Juno Way, Lewisham SE14

Juno Way was a three acre site containing six large warehouses and offices. The warehouse construction was brickwork walls and steel frame roof clad in asbestos cement sheeting. Tower Demolition was engaged to conduct the demolition and site clearance. The scope of works covered service disconnections; site hoarding; asbestos removal; strip out; scaffolding; remote demolition and on site crushing.

Tower Demolition’s Project Management Team coordinated the entire project working closely with our independent H&S advisor, MEL and the Health & Safety Executive. The removal of all asbestos containing materials involved full enclosures including scaffolding access and protection. An independent air testing company conducted parameter air testing for the entire duration of the project.

The soft strip and reclamation of the brick and slate roof tiles was conducted by one foreman and 12 operatives. The demolition of all remaining structures was then undertaken with onsite crushing of the resulting debris which was stockpiled for reuse. Tower Demolition’s 3600 demolition excavators were used during the remove demolition phase of the project. Also on the project was a QJ340 Sandvik Mobile Crusher. Metal and all recyclable materials were segregated from all other arising’s and taken away for recycling. Tower Demolition endeavor to recycle 90% of all suitable demolition debris. Care was taken to minimize noise, vibrations and dust nuisance along with a traffic plan for vehicle movement on and off site in such a way as to alleviate any impact onto the surrounding roads.

To achieve 100% success, Tower Demolition Limited always ensure that all operatives working on site receive a Health and Safety induction prior to commencing work and regular meetings between all those working on site exchange project, health and safety information.
