The site was located on the eastern side of Great Cumberland Place, Westminster, London, W1H 7BS and is bounded by Upper Berkeley Street to the south, by Brunswick Mews to the north and by residential and office uses to the east. The sites immediate surrounding area includes mostly residential, retail and office space.
The demolition phase works consisted of asbestos removal, service isolations, removing the lift & dumb waiters and soft strip to grade 2 listed rooms.
The construction phase consisting of minor hard demolition, a mansard extension, restoration of the building’s façade, reintroduction of key features within the building, re-plan of the function area, relocation of bedroom zones to the upper levels, re-use of external spaces. The proposed development will have a total of 35 bedrooms.
